Based on Snufkin’s frequent appearances in Allori’s portraits, she must have been a popular puppy in Florentine society in the second half of the 16th century. Or maybe Allori just absolutely adored her, and stuffed her into the frame of every painting he could and told his sitters it was just the thing. This girl looks like she might be allergic.
